Westinghouse and Tesla.
|
For Tesla, creating inventions was easy, but selling them was another story. Tesla was a horrible businessman. Instead of exchanging his inventions for money, he practically gave them away. Tesla also allowed people (like Edison and Guglielmo Marconi) to steal his ideas. Westinghouse helped commercialize and sell his products, which was the only reason Tesla seemed to receive any money. “I was never in it for the money,” stated Tesla, “I am happy that people liked my ideas.” he said. With Westinghouse on his side, Tesla was set up for success. Even though Tesla wasn't the best businessman, he still gained some money from his inventions which helped him sponsor his other inventions.
